Research Associate (chargé de recherche) at the Athena Team, INRIA Sophia Antipolis-Méditerranée
LMI: 2010 - 2013
My work mainly focuses on developing mathematical models of brain anatomy, through Diffusion MRI and their clinical applications. I also have interests in image registration and machine learning.
Demian graduated from the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina, where he obtained his B.Sc in computer science. He obtained his PhD at the Athena research team at the INRIA Sophia Antipolis under the supervision of Professor Rachid Deriche. In his PhD he focused on the analysis of white matter fibers traced from Diffusion MRI, aiming at providing a sound mathematical framework for automatic dissection and statistical analysis of the structures of the human brain's white matter. Since May 2010, Demian is working under the joint supervision of Professor Carl-Fredrik Westin at the LMI, Professor Ron Kikinis at the SPL, and Professor Martha Shenton at the PNL, all three laboratories at the Harvard Medical School and the Brigham and Women's Hospital.
