Chantal completed her Biomedical Engineering bachelor degree at Eindhoven University of Technology. During her master Medical Engineering at the same university she focussed on biomedical modeling and image processing and analysis. She did a four-month research project at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Sydney, Australia, where she investigated a new clinical test for balance disorders in the lab of professor Michael Halmagyi. Chantal completed her master thesis in the group of professor Bart ter Haar Romeny in collaboration with epilepsy center Kempenhaeghe. The focus of this project was to improve the reconstruction of the optic radiation for epilepsy surgery, using funcional MRI and diffusion MRI tractography. After graduation in 2012 she started as a PhD candidate at the PROVIDI Lab, part of the Image Sciences Institute. Under the supervision of Dr. Alexander Leemans, she focuses on improving the analysis of diffusion MRI data. She is currently a visiting scholar at the Laboratory of Mathematics in Imaging at Brigham and Women's Hospital and Harvard Medical School, Boston, MA.
